ALUMNI HALL C (AP) -- Shortly before dawn, A 2nd year medical student was evicted from his cubicle in Alumni C. Medical center security arrived around 5am to find the unidentified man deeply entrenched. Although officials feared the student might attempt to barracade himself in, the eviction occurred without much incident

Security said that the student had been taking up that particular cubicle for no fewer than 8 months. Once he had been escorted out onto the balcony, officials removed the remainder of his possessions which included several dozen books, an electric pencil sharpener, a personal computer, a coffee maker, a dirty laundry hamper, and sleeping bag.

As he was led away, the student was reported to have remarked "You don't understand - the boards are just 3 months away!" He is currently being held at an undisclosed psychiatric hospital.

Reaction from other students today was mostly one of shock. "I didn't think they could kick us out," commented a naive first year student who preferred to remain anonymous, "I'm mean, we pay $30,000 a year to use these facilities, right?"

Some however, were just plain relieved, including Jesse Raiten, class of 2003, who told us, "Damn, I thought they'd never get that smelly $%&@ out of here!"

One administrator compared the morning's events to a prior eviction. "We haven't had to deal with a mess like that since we kicked that Chan kid out of the 24 hour room!"
